After v21 updates, does "/var/lib/egroupware" contain all data?

Are all data files, including databases, found under the host directory “/var/lib/egroupware”?

I see older references stating that this directory contains all data and should be part of an external backup scheme, but it is unclear if this changes when the DB moves to a docker instance.

/var/lib/egroupware contains the files and DB-backups, but not the database itself.

You can schedule a periodic backup in EGroupware and then backing up /var/lib/egroupware is sufficient.

The DB is in a volume under /var/lib/docker.

What is the initial situation? Do you want to upgrade?

If you want to upgrade and rebuild the system:

• Make an EGw backup
• Install EGroupware on the new server
• Copy /var/lib/Egroupware to the new server.
• Import data backup via the setup
• Done
