Async services can't send e-mail notification - SMTP account not found

Hi, all!

I have problem with the notifications in EGroupWare 16.1 community edition. The cron job cant send e-mails with message:

An error happened (EGroupware\Api\Exception\NotFound): SMTP: Account not found!

The message is pretty clear (or at least I think so).
We use SMTP server with authentication (user+pass from account) and I can’t find out how to point to async services which account to use.
I’m migrating from the older 1.8 where the mail admin application could help.

Hi Ivo,

problem is probably that all your mail accounts are personal ones and
have their passwords encrypted with the users session-password.

That’s good security-wise, but dont allow to send async notifications.

We usually create an “Smtp only” account for all users. You use the
[Skip IMAP] button to create one and make sure to select that it is for
all users, as that triggers it’s password to be encrypted with a system
secret not the user passwords.

Btw. that is the case since 14.1, not just 16.1.

Thank you very much for your quick answer.

Creating an additional SMTP-only e-mail profile valid for everyone
solved the problem.

In fact I saw the process of creation of such account on the tutorial
video for e-mail administration. But later this account was assigned to
an user for sending mails and I couldn’t realize that async services
will guess and use it too.

I have some working 14.1 instances but they do not use async services at
the moment and the problem was not visible.
