Ralf, Stefan, All,

After Ralf got me straightened out on my git-pull past the 23.1 branch, I’ve run into a strange issue in Files. If I click on the link for an image, I get a collabora-trial page instead and the image never opens? When I click the link for the image, I’m presented with:

The only way I can open the image now is to click on the little icon in the Type column. If I click on the image Name under the Name column, this collabora thing pops up. Not just once either, I’ve got 3-tabs worth of it opened right now. I thought after the first ad showed up, the link would go back to showing the image like normal, but instead, it keeps launching the collabora-trial. This test box isn’t exposed to the internet, so it can’t use collabora anyway.

For completeness, in Files, this is the image I’m trying to view and this shows the image name under the Name column that brings up the collabora trial:

How do I get the link to show the image again and not the collabora thing?

Hi David.

If you cannot/do not want to use Collabora Online, then you should simply remove the execution rights. Collabora Online will then no longer be offered/displayed anywhere.

However, you should take a look at Collabora Online when you get the chance. EGroupware in combination with Collabora Online is powerful.
In Germany, for example, we have a lawyer who generates all documents from EGroupware and processes them in Collabora Online if necessary.

I have given several presentations on this (German, slides also in EN):

There are also a few videos by Birgit (English).

Stefan

That is good advice Stefan. I’ll check into it. But after 30 years of practice, my document flow is pretty set in stone by this point. I’m not an overly new-tech kind of guy. The mysql or postgresql backend, contacts, calendar, timesheets (with price lists), file manager, infolog was the greatest thing since sliced bread with call logs, todos, etc…, projects and php-brain also get a lot of workout.

That said, I do see the value in a good online service that can handle document markup and discussion with remote participants. However, as you start creeping up on 60, you find very few lawyers above you that operate more than the same word-processor they have used for 30 years…

I did take a quick look at it, but I’ll have to spend more time with it to know if it helps or hurts. Same thing with chat – that’s what the telephone that is attached to your wall is for :)
