EGW 1.8 phpFreeChat error

Hi all,
is there anybody that can help me to understand why I get this message
"phpFreeChat cannot be initialized, please correct these errors:
* Mysql container: errore nella creazione del database ‘Can’t create database ‘xxxxx’; database exists’"
when I try to open phpfreechat?

Removing and reinstalling phpfreechat doesn’t solve the problem and in my db there’s already a phpfrechat table.

Ok, bug’s caught!
It seems there’s something wrong in phpfrechat/phpfrechat/src/containers/mysql.class.php when it tries to understand if the db exists. Avoiding the above test all works well.

i understand you bit late

tried hard coding phpfreechat_config.php

default case to en, and it solved the issue.

don’t know how can it be done from frontend.

Not sure why this is necessary, in the current 1.8 there’s a case 'en’
setting ‘en_US’ for phpFreeChat.

Maybe you using an older version, or you somehow missed to set a
language in common preferences.

Hi Ralf,
I installed eGroupWare 1.8.002, with default language “Simple Chinese”.
There‘s a same phpfreechat error: phpFreeChat cannot be initialized, please correct these errors:…
Can I configure the phpfreechat lang case to EN? Then I can use it. How to ?

Modified phpfreechat_config.php like this. Then php-fpm restart. It works well now.
But I think there’s another better way to solve this.

I have tried to install the phpfreechat from here through the normal egroupware installation method (pointing url to the folder location inside my egroupware installation directory)… but keep redirecting to the egroupware login page.
I really don’t know what I’m missing. I have performed several checks and even tried the database method “INSERT INTO egw_applications (app_name, app_enabled)
VALUES(‘appname’, 1)” as seen here to no avail…
Am I missing something. Kindly advise.

Hello,

for an installation via Git you either need to uncomment the app in
.mrconfig file in EGroupware directory and run “mr up”, of if you dont
have mr available look inside that file and the .mrconfig file in
phpfreechat subfolder and run the commands. In case of phpFreeChat you
would need to checkout the actual phpFreeChat sources inside our
phpFreeChat app.
EGroupware apps need to be installed via Setup
(https://domain.com/egroupware/setup/) upper login >> Manage applications.
in case of phpFreeChat (AND you are not using our recommended
package) you need a third step which phpFreeChat offers to run once you
first start it.

Your second option was what I have been missing. And I’m glad that helped me to move a little further.
However, I ran into another issue, I get the prompt to install old egroupware api (ver 14). Does that mean I can only use phpfreechat with the old version of egroupware (14)?
Is there anything I can do with the versioning?

The old api is available in a repo named “phpgwapi”, it depends on the
new api.

I have installed phpfreechat now and can see the line “phpfreechat-OK - C phpFreeChat” ticked. But on logging back to the application, I could not notice it in the list of applications in egroupware.
Kindly advice on how to bring it up.
