Failed update to eGroupware 1.8.004

Hello all.
We are running eGroupware Community Edition 1.8.004 on Debian Linux. This morning when I tried do an update, I received the following messages regarding the update to eGroupware:

/usr/bin/php -d memory_limit=256M /usr/share/egroupware/setup/setup-cli.php
–update 'all,admin,uRrhNRzm0o5{Cn5V,'
eGroupWare API version 1.8.004 found.
eGroupWare configuration file (header.inc.php) version 1.29 exists and is up to
date

eGroupWare domain/instance default(mysql):
database is version 1.8.004 and up to date.
No update necessary, domain default(mysql) is up to date.

eGroupWare domain/instance New(mysql):
Your Database is not working! mysql://egroupware:@localhost/egroupware:

Installation failed --> exiting!

EGroupware install log saved to /root/egroupware-install.log

The eGroupware installed is working fine and is being used on a daily basis. I do not understand the message above regarding the database not working.

Can anyone advise me what I need to do in order to complete the update? Is there any other information needed, or files you might need to see the contents of, to work out I need to do to fix this?

You have a 2. EGroupware instance called “New” in header.inc.php, beside
the default one “default”.

That instance seems to have no working database, maybe because you only
added it accidentally in header admin (lower login of setup) and never
installed it …

If my assumption is ok, you can go again to header admin and remove
instance “New”, to get ride of that message for next update.

Thanks for your response. You are correct, adding the instance “new” was an accident. I didn’t realise that I had even done it until you pointed that out.

When you say that I can go to header admin and remove the instance “new”, do I just edit the
/var/lib/egroupware/header.inc.php
file directly, or is there a better way?

Also, once this is done, is there a way of forcing an update so that I can check that it is all ok or do I need to wait until the next eGroupware update is picked up after an apt-get update is performed?

I am very inexperienced with php and setting up/administering eGroupware.
