I recommend to not use blank but
= select one
one=one
two=two
==> the select one, gets automatically translated and you can set an
custom field also as required

The old method for providing an empty response in a custom field’s select box
was to have a ‘=’ on a line by itself. As of 14.1 this doesn’t seem to work.
What is the new method for providing a custom field select box blank/empty
option?
