Question about InfoLog

Hi Ralf,
I would like to ask you a question about this note (InfoLog requires EPL subscription)
in your announcement ?
What exactly does it mean for us ? Now We use Community Edition.
Does it mean that InfoLog in Community Edition is not for free anymore ?
And if that is true, what is the cost of InfoLog in Community Edition now?
Or We have to buy “EGroupware Enterprise Line” if we want to use InfoLog ?

thanks for the questions I wanted to ask the same with the following
extensions:

what happens with the old infolog entries in case I would like to
upgrade to 16.1?
can we still reach the infolog interface (via thunderbird eg.) but the
egroupware GUI module belongs to EPL or?

No, you misinterpreted it: EPL and EPL only offers to PGP encrypt
InfoLog descriptions.

So you can eg. safely use InfoLog to store passwords of your customers
there, with the extra security if eg. the database got stolen, the
passwords stored there are safe.

It is and it is not only “free” but you can look at it’s sources on
Github and modify them under GPL.

And if that is true, what is the cost of InfoLog in Community Edition now?
Or We have to buy “EGroupware Enterprise Line” if we want to use InfoLog ?

You are of cause welcome to support further EGroupware development by
buying an EPL subscription and enjoy the extra feature like versioning
in filemanager or working on the Gantt chart in projectmanager, to name
a view.

Please read my answer to Lubos.

Everything available in InfoLog in previous versions is available in
16.1 too in the community version!

Additional to above, if an EPL subscription is used, you can optionally
encrypt content of an InfoLog entry with PGP using the browser-side
Mailvelope plugin used in Mail app to en- or decrypt mails in community
version.
