"Standard mailserver settings" disappeared

Hello,

In the EGroupware setup page (http://example.com/egroupware/setup/config.php), I can’t find the “Standard mailserver settings (used for Mail authentication too):” section.

Instead, there is a section named “If using Mail authentication (requires PHP IMAP extension!:”, but it only contains IMAP settings, nothing for SMTP.

I want to enable e-mail notifications for calendar events, and therefore need to configure the SMTP server and account info.

Where have these settings been moved to? How can I get e-mail notifications for calendar events to work?

I am using EGroupware version 14.2.20150212, it has been installed on an Ubuntu 14.04 from the OpenSUSE repository (http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/eGroupWare/xUbuntu_14.04/), using the default settings.

That’s because that setting is just for authentication against a mail /
IMAP server.

Mail accounts are defined in 14.1 inside EGroupware either in mail app
or via right click on a user and selecting “mail account”.

I’m not trying to setup a mail account for a specific user, I am trying
to configure egroupware so that it automatically sends e-mails to people
when they are invited to a calendar event.

Therefore I need to configure an account for egroupware itself, not for
a specific user, i.e. egroupware@company.com, so that it sends
notifications, and not john.doe@company.com .

account for whom that account is, eg. for all users.

If you select [Manual] and [Skip IMAP], you can specify just an SMTP server.

Therefore I need to configure an account for egroupware itself, not for
a specific user, i.e. [hidden email]
</user/SendEmail.jtp?type=node&node=4005282&i=0>, so that it sends
notifications, and not [hidden email]
</user/SendEmail.jtp?type=node&node=4005282&i=1> .

EMailAdmin.

However, having an SMTP-only account (by clicking on Skip IMAP) does not
seem to work, the account is not visible in the left bar after creation,
nor is it accessible anywhere else. I therefore created an account with
IMAP too, which works.

However, having an SMTP-only account (by clicking on Skip IMAP) does not
seem to work, the account is not visible in the left bar after creation,
nor is it accessible anywhere else.
That’s the point of an SMTP-only account, not to show up as IMAP server

You need it, as personal mail accounts encrypt their password with the
users session password and async notifications have that not available.
