Email reminders for Brithdate in addressbook

I tried posting similar question in users forum but looks like there is no way?

How can we have email reminders (or any action, like script execution etc…) for Brithdays (or for any other custom date, like anniversary date?) in addressbook…

So , I really wonder what customization can be done which would also ensure proper harmony with remaining system.
