Firewall module?

HI,

In the announcement, 2 new modules are specifically mentioned: “We would like to ask EPL users in particular to test this version. Especially the new firewall functionality and the Kanban module.”

I am already aware of the Kanban module, but I have not seen anything about “firewall” functionality?

Have a look at page 41. It’s not much…
I’m still trying to translate the slides (EN) and write an announcement about it.

In short:
At the web login you can create Filter by

• IP/DNS address
• Group membership
• Weekday/date

In this way, you can release EGroupware to the outside world, but only allow certain users to log in, for example.

Got those already set up and the main firewalls are already filtering IPs as well.

Small example:

The important thing here was to allow everything from the local/trusted networks and to ban everything from external first.
Then users from a group are allowed.

This gives me (and the boss) an overview of who can access EGroupware from outside.
The rules can then also be tested at this point.

I will document this again in the upcoming release notes.

That looks cool.
One idea that would be useful as well (Not sure if already possible):

• Allow remote-access using 2FA only between certain dates and automatically remove the entry when the “finish” date arrived. In other words, allow access from remote while the person is on holiday/remote project/…
