Infolog is fantastic, but has one particular limitation. Presently you
can not filter by group and an infolog entry can’t be owned by a group

That’s already possible, by setting up own task / InfoLog type, which
are owned and acl controlled by a predefined group. Eg. you have sales
report with are confidential and should only visible to sales department
and management. You make that “sales report” type group owned by a sales
group, and it also has the side effect you cant forget to set the group.
A great addition would be to add the ability to assign a task to a
group and then add the ability to filter by group to the nav bar. That
way infolog would be able to show info related to an individual group
instead of every group seeing all other groups tasks. This limitation is
particularly highlighted currently when one employee is a member of
several groups, like a coordinating secretary. Without the ability to
filter by group every group of which she is a member sees all other
groups tasks and can’t filter with owner or responsible in any way to
get a group result.
Filtering by group, in the assigned column, is easy to implement. Though
I only implemented it in the tracker, just need to copy the code over.
Also, it would be great to be able to filter by “own or responsible” at
the same time to see all tasks managed by an individual employee.
If you set the “own or responsible” filter in the nextmatch header (box)
and filter at the same time by that person, you got that already.
Everything that is already in infolog is great. These would just be
some great additions.

Keep up the great work, get through the vote or make peace among the
camps while a proof of concept and integration/migration challenges are
being analyzed.
