Problem with french translations encoding in SVN trunk

Hi!

It seems that french translations have wrong encoding. When I
remove/install apps, I get errors:

Error inserting record: egw_lang values (‘system’,‘icalsrv’,‘fr’,‘Syst�me’)

And PostgreSQL logs this:

ERROR: 22021: invalid byte sequence for encoding “UTF8”: 0xe86d65

The encoding on those files is incorrectly ISO-8859-1. This fixes the problem:

recode iso-8859-1…utf-8 < phpgw_fr.lang > phpgw_fr.lang.tmp
mv phpgw_fr.lang.tmp phpgw_fr.lang

If I understand correctly since the file is phpgw_*, that happens in
1.4, where fr is using iso, so I don’t understand the reason why your
system is treating that file as if it was in utf-8. Check that your lang
files and whole installation are properly updated.

Maybe Alex is using a mixture of trunk and 1.4 …

That’s not going to work, unless you do the conversation of the
phpgw_*.lang files of 1.4 yourself.
