Hi Nathan,
I usually copy the database over with mysqldump | mysql and then apply a
small SQL script setting the differences.
Nothing fancy and I’m not arware of any more automated solution.

The URLs are different, as are the site title, logo, etc. In the past
I’ve just restored a backup from one into the other, then crawled
through the egw_config table and changed all the bits I recognize, but
it seems to me someone else may have solved this problem more
effectively.

Just say no! Punctuation marks do not gain significance if you
increase their number, they make you look silly. One is sufficient.
