Upgrade from v1.8.004

Hello

Is there any advice on the upgrade process from a v1.8.004 system to the latest version?

I did try simply restoring the 1.8 version database export into v21.1 but it ultimately failed with some SQL errors and left the database unusable (I just rolled a snapshot back).

Hi Noel.

In principle, it is possible to upgrade a 1.8 to 21.1.

However, problems can occur after so many skipped updates.
It is important (probably for you) that you install the deprecated applications:

EGroupware/egroupware

It depends on whether you still use such modules.

The only applications in use are the calendaring and contacts but there are other applications present.

I was just reading about the egw-epl-groups package and although I have a note of the ‘SubmitID’ I can’t say I have ever noticed the user/pass and it looks like I’ll need to wait a few days until I can see it again:

There’s no hurry.
You don’t want to do an in-place upgrade and have your old 1.8 available for longer.
Groups that have been created will also be taken over during the upgrade.

Yes, thanks. I will build a new VM in parallel and migrate the data from the live server.

Could I ask if you know how often the usage statistics can be uploaded? I need to capture the username/password used or is there somewhere in the database where I can fish it out from as I am a bit stuck without them?

You can upload as often as you like. However, only after a waiting period of four weeks.

Then they wouldn’t have to be displayed when uploading the statistics.
We have the data in our database.

If it’s really urgent, please write me the installation ID via PN.
