Hi All,
We are embarking on a development to add some (commercial in confidence) software modules into
egroupware for a client and also contribute any useful fixes/additions to the base egroupware
software back to the community. We will have a development environment where we get our code
working the way we want, a testing environment for the client to flog it, and a production
environment for the finished product. We will be hosting all 3 environments.
The main area of enhancement to the standard egroupware we see at this stage would be in
workflow usage in other modules. We plan to use workflow extensively. There will probably be
more as we utilise syncML and integrate with backend accounting systems, external info
providers, and enhance/customise the CRM capabilities.
Which version of egroupware should we be using? Latest stable? Trunk? Other?
And which version of PHP should we be on? Can we do this on 4.3.9? Or do we need 5.x (I noticed
that Trunk does not install on php4.3.9 failing with a parse error - see below for details).
BTW, parse error during setup of trunk on a (plesk) centos4/apache2/php4.3.9 I got:
PHP Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ‘)’ in
/var/www/vhosts/webs.net.au/subdomains/group/httpdocs/egroupware/phpgwapi/inc/common_functions.i
nc.php on line 1344
Thanks
Graham
