Using sitemgr download module

Hello all

I get the effect that all the files I show in the download block of
sitemgr are only available if you log in with the user who owns the
directory. The anonymous user doesn’t see anything and since I can’t
(normally) log in with it he doesn’t get a home directory I could use to
put the files up…

There doesn’t seem to be any ACLs in filemanager which would allow me to
give a specific directory to everybody. This is really a missing
feature! Public folders are not only needed at sitemgr but at the
template system for the address book too (where you currently can’t seem
to use any template for more than one user).

The documentation about sitemgr doesn’t seem to cover much… definitely
not that particular problem. What could I do?

I already changed class.module_download.inc.php the quick and dirty way
since I need a different layout (as stated a few days ago in an
unanswered mail to this list). Therefore I have no problem changing it
more and disabling all security I have to to achieve my current goal.
So, any hint will be appreciated! (and we can discuss about more elegant
solutions later).

Hi Peter,

beside I answered your mail, you can already set the ACL your require:
just use an group directory and set the access in Admin >> Manage groups
by clicking on the ACL icon (pencil) behind the app name filemanager.

Hi Ralf

Well, no offense meant… but I don’t see any answer for “sitemgr:
Making the download-filelist themable”. At the other hand that list has
problems with my mail account since we changed to another MX. Extreme
lag and sometimes “blocked by excessive bouncing” (can’t track it down,
unfortunately, since nobody else complains about bounces and sends me
some of them).

I am working with the download-module at the moment, too. If you give the sitemgr-user access to the folders (the way Ralf proposed) the website will contain the download module showing the folders all right. I have some problems opening/downloading a file, as I posted in another thread: http://www.nabble.com/download-module-tp16985130s3741p16985130.html
I am curious if maybe you experience the same problems.

Yes, I got it too. But I got the impression that after some time it
works OK. When I clicked the same link again a bit later I got what I
was looking for…

I am using 1.4.004 right now.

Hi I tested that with trunk now.
It seems to work without problems.
I configured:
The sitemanager user as member of the group, whos folder is to be published.
The group has full access regarding filemanager.
As this is not the configuration as Frank described otherwise, I will try
this setup with 1.4 as well.

As far as my tests go with 1.4, I can see and open files within the Folder,
that you have configured
with the download module.
Files within subfolders are listed but cannot be opened.

I’ve got it. It was a missing “/” in the download-module-configuration. I uses “home/…” instead of “/home/…” The nasty thing is that all folders are shown allright, only the download didn’t work base64 decoding the path paassed via the URL gave the last hint.
I spent more than two days on this nasty slash, checking different installations, different permissions, different browsers. But it’s allright now.

all you have to do is give site sitemgr user access to the filemanager app and read-permissions for the folders you need.
I will add some lines in the wiki about this next week.

I already found and fixed that issue in trunk, when I updated the code
for the new filemanager.

Just forget 1.4 … it’s now fixed there too (in svn).

Yes, I got it too. But I got the impression that after some time it

That explains why I had the problem sometimes and sometimes not.
Sometimes I added that / and at other times I forgot ist The last
time I tried I added it and therefore didn’t cosider it a bug at all.

Thanks! Yes… I see… That mail really didn’t make it into my mailbox.
We had some trouble with SPF when moving to the new SMTP-servers…
together with a TTL of 24 hours. Hope that’s over by now.

Right now the “dirty hack” is running well. But I’ll probably have to
get a better way when the next update comes. What’s the .tpl parsed
with? Smarty or a similar template engine?

It’s the old phplib templates (Template class in phpgwapi). That’s
already used in sitemgr and modules can have template set specific
templates for themselfs.

OK. Thanks for the info. I will have to look into the whole system
(didn’t work with it yet). Having own template directories means that a
directory structure like sitemgr_module_guestbook could be created and
extended by a template-directory with their respective subdirectories.

Well, don’t expect me to do it tomorrow, but I will try to create
something as useful as possible.
