Creating eGroupware hosting

Hi,

I would like to know whether egw can be easily configured to host mail, contact, etc for other domains or companies. I’m thinking of doing this and I get very excited with egw capabilities.

I would like each company/domain to have their own database so the information is completely separated from each other. How to achieve this? Is there an article or HOWTO or Doco on this specific subject/topic?

Well, yes I’m doing this allready.
Just use different domain for each company and install for each
company on its own hosting egw.
Then you now it’s secure and every company can config egw to their
own needs.

Is there an existing documentation on how to do this or is it just a case of creating a new database, and a total new instance of egw for every company that I plan to host? Could you please point me to the article or HOWTOs to accomplish this?

Well, yes I'm doing this allready. Just use different domain for each company and install for each company on its own hosting egw. Then you now it's secure and every company can config egw to their own needs.

Exactly.
For example in one internet domain:

you make one egroupware installation.
create several egroupware domains with setup as header admin
after giving config users for each egroupware domains, you can login
to setup as domain config user and you can install new databases
do not forgot to create new document root for each egroupware domain
to separate users’ files.

Hi BlackCat,

From a security point of few, I always create a total new instance
for every company, using their own db.
As I give my customers the free choice after installing the software
and configuring it to their needs if they want my company for
maintenance or not.
The basicly have their own hosting site, I provide them, how to say
this in english: application administration.
