Custom Fields

Greetings,

I’m trying to create a custom field in Project Manager that pulls info from the Address book. As it stands right now, my custom field will allow me to select/search a persons but only displays the name. I would like to also pull the business work number

Here is my syntax for custom field

Again, my goal is to have the business phone number appear beside the person’s name.

I’ve crawled the web looking to see if the options column can be used for the syntax but just cannot find anything.

Use the contact widget, to display certain information of a selected
contact.

This is done through eTemplate? I can see the class.contact_widget.inc.php file but not sure how to utilize it.

I can only give a short version:

create a custom field of type ‘addressbook’, remember the name
use eTemplate editor to add (somewhere) a new ‘contact’ widget, give
it the name of above custom field, prefixed with a hash (#) and select
whatever contact information you want to display (eg. work phone)

ETemplate documentation is linked in the sidebox menu of eTemplate app.
There’s also a good tutorial called ‘code corner’:

And if you want to do it the easy way, there’s always our commercial

Ralf,

Thank you for pointing me into the direction to take. While purchasing the commercial version would be over kill for my personal use, I’d be more than happy to make a donation but cannot see any link on the egroupware website. How would one go about making a small donation?
