Hi,
if you could enlighten us to what settings you have used to configure
caldav, then I might be able to help you.
I have set it up fine on my wife’s macbook running he same system.
Sounds like you have used a wrong url or have set it up to use infolog
instead of calendar.
Regards,
Ingo
Hi,
thank you at first for your help.
Server Side:
I’m running egroupware 1.8.001.20110409 on Debian squeeze (vers. 6.0.1) got from the opensuse build services repository
(deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/eGroupWare/Debian_6.0/ ./)
as written in the official egw wiki page I’ve added this rewrite rule in my apache2 configuration
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^.well-known/(caldav|carddav)$ /egroupware/groupdav.php/ [R]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} ^(PROPFIND|OPTIONS)$
RewriteRule ^/$ /egroupware/groupdav.php/ [R]

Client Side:
I’m running problems with Apple iCal 4.0.4 on Mac OS X 10.6.7.
Apple AddressBook works ok. To configure it I only have to add a CardDAV Account via Preferences.
So, AddressBook Menu -> Preferences -> Account Tab -> Click on “+” and
Account Type: CardDAV
Username: EGW Login name
Pass: EGW Login Pass
Server Address: EGW_fully_qualified_domain_name:443
(NOTE: The apache rewrite rule do the trick and rewrite EGW_fqdn as /groupdav.php/principals/users/EGW_login_name)
Now I configure Apple iCal
So, iCal Menu -> Preferences -> Account Tab -> Click on “+” and
Account Type: CalDAV
Username: EGW Login name
Pass: EGW Login Pass
Server Address: EGW_fully_qualified_domain_name:443/egroupware/groupdav.php
(NOTE: if I simply use EGW_fully_qualified_domain_name:443 iCal tells me that it can’t find any CalDAV running server. It seems the apache rule do not work here, so I have to use the given addrress)
BTW, do you have the same behavior here ?
Anyway iCal can find the CalDAV server and it configure the account as follow:
(Looking at Server Setting Tab)
Server Address: EGW_fully_qualified_domain_name
Server Path: /egroupware/groupdav.php/
Port: Blank (aka auto)
Use SSL: Flagged (aka ON)
OK, thats, all.
Now in the iCal main window I can see the Remote EGW Server. It hosts two calendars.
One for Tasks (remote address is /egroupware/groupdav.php/infolog/), one for calendars (remote address is /egroupware/groupdav.php/calendar/)
(Note: I 've got calendar’s addresses right-clicking on the given calendar and choosing “Get Info”)
The problem is that while I can see all the EGW infolog entries (View > Show all-day-events) i can’t see any EGW calendar note.
I can correctly sync infolog from EGW and ical and adding events to EGW adds events to ical as expected.
If I go to https://EGW_fully_qualified_domain_name/egroupware/groupdav.php/calendar/ with a web browser (Safari or Firefox) I can see all my events as downloadable .ics files.
Looking at the egw wiky and forum:
someone has used this calendar address http://EGW_fully_qualified_domain_name/egroupware/groupdav.php/principals/users/EGW_login_name
also tryed this but it seems to not fix the problem.
I hope my report is at least sufficient to understand the problem. If not and you need more info. Just ask.
Any tips or advice ?
Thanks again for your help
Looking forward to hearing from you
Filippo
