Felamimail performance in trunk

Hi to all

I have upgraded our trunk installation yesterday from svn and made a few testings.

I have noticed a very poor performance in felamimail compared to our 1.4.004 installation.

Some folders never come up with the list of messages, and the processor in the server goes to 100% until i close the browser window.

I’m using the same mail setup that in our 1.4.004 installation, the same mail server, the same accounts

Server is a IBM x330 2 Pentium Xeon Dual Core 3 GHz, 4 GB RAM.

SLES 10 + SP1
php 5.1.2
mysql 5.0.26
cyrus imap 2.2.12

all apache, imap, mysql , openldap and egroupware on the same server

Hi to all.

No much to say, it was my fault.

I had empty the preferences option for the number of rows to shown, and felamimail was trying to show a folder with about 2000 messages…

I have changed this value to 25 and now works as fast as the 1.4004 version.

Click on Preferences.

Then enter common preferences

Now in the first option fill with 25.

save

go to felamimail and see the results

Hi.

I am using trunk 1.9.005 and after the last update yesterday, all of a sudden falamimail only shows 4 rows despite of having set 25 in the preferences. Very annoying.
Any idea of how to fix?

Hi.

We have reports of that, but not yet found out what the problem is.

Try deleting the browser cache, to make sure you get the latest version
of the javascript and css files.

If that does not help, please report what browser and version you are
using and on which OS.

Hi.

I can confirm that I have deleted all temp HTML and cache files, yet egroupware still only shows about 4 rows of emails.
Firefox 3.6 on WindowsXP
Firefox 4.0 on Kubuntu 10.10
Safari on iOS 4

Confirming with current r34608, the preference “Mail Grid Behavior” has
no effect and the message list always shows four messages.
I registered all application hooks and cleared the browser cache.
Browsers: Epiphany 3.0, Firefox 4.0, Chrome 12.0
OS: Debian GNU/Linux wheezy/sid

The preference “Mail Grid Behavior” setting is to control pagination.
It is not to control message grid height.

I tried with several browsers FF3.6.18, FF4, IE8, IE9, CHROME12, Epiphany, Safari
But could not reproduce.
There was however (and still is) a miscalculation of the grid height when there are only a few lines to show. I improved that a little bit, but was not able to handle that sufficiently for mailboxes containing only 4 or 5 messages.

I gues you coild not reproduce because it was already fixed yesterday. Was that by you?
Anyway, it’s working since, although as you said it could still need some improvement.

Thanks for your consideration. I explained that I don’t understand ‘Mail
grid behavior’ on the tracker, just want to add that there is no
difference in how many messages the mailbox folder contains for me, R34668.
