Hi,
I installed the latest version on Monday. Thanks for keeping things
current!
I may have found a problem on the main page of the General Ledger.
After entering a transaction of say a debit $500 and a credit of
$500, the main page shows the debit and credit reversed. If you
click the transaction number to view the transaction detail, that
page shows them correct. They have been saved to the database
correctly so there are no problems there. I’ve attached a screen
shot so that you can see what I mean
Ok, I see a few problems with that. Thanks for reporting it, I’ll
dig into it. That issue has been a thorn in my side for a long time…
I’d appreciate knowing the settings for the general ledger account
groups that those accounts are in. (Increase / Decrease)
Is it possible that my currency settings could be affecting this?
My US Dollar preference is set to “-1,200.03 [red].” This was
happening before I upgraded to the new version as well.
No, it’s not the currency. That just changes how they’re shown.
Helpful Hint: In my perp preferences I didn’t have a report output
format selected so it was throwing a bunch of errors at me in the
downloaded file. Once I selected OpenOffice.org everything worked
fine. Hopefully this will help someone in the future. (Nathan, I
upgraded to php 5.2.3 with zip enabled and that cured the
ZipArchive problem. Thanks!)
I’ve added those tips to the FAQ to help those in the future.
Another question…When I click on “Trial Balance” in the left menu
it takes me to Home. I believe I have all the permissions setup to
view the trial balance. Any reason why the link might not work? The
link is supposed to go to: index.php?
menuaction=perp_ledger.uireport.trial_balance
Whoops. I removed that file a long time ago. I’ve removed the link.
I could re-direct it to the new trial balance report and add the
other reports, but I have no way of knowing how long the list of
reports could get.
Ok, one more question/suggestion…are you all thinking about
getting a forum? Personally, I find the wiki and sourceforge hard
to navigate. I’d be happy to help set one up in my spare time. Just
let me know!
I appreciate the offer. The majority of the wiki was written by me,
so I welcome suggestions for improvement (or people improving it
directly). The main page could sure use some help.
Most of what gets discussed is here on the developer’s mailing list.
I don’t think there’s enough discussion going on yet to make a
separate forum worth the effort and duplication.
Nabble provides a nice forum-like interface to the mailing list if
you prefer:
http://www.nabble.com/Project-ERP-(pERP)---Developers-f21421.html
but it doesn’t have the full archive.
