iPhone 4 addressbook sync faulty

Hi

I installed egroupware a week ago or so (eGroupware-1.8.001.20101013). My primary purpose was to sync calendar entries between Macbooks, a web UI and iPhones.

I saw post http://www.egroupware.org/forum#nabble-td984581 (had the same problem). The suggested php file change from Ralph also solved my problem for the calendar that now works absolutely perfect 2way between web, MAC and iPhones.

However… The addressbook is not ok. All added entries from the iPhone immediately sync to egroupware. But the sync back to the iPhone from changed or new entried in egroupware only works if I change something in the CardDAV account in the iPhone and click “done” so it’s refreshed. Does anybody know if it’s a iPhone bug?

It’s not really a bug, it is so by concept. EGroupware (the server) can
never trigger an update. Updates happen when the clients chooses to do
so. Unfortunately there’s no button in iPhone to trigger a manual
update. Going to the highest level in iPhone addressbooks and then back
to a specific addressbook does the trick.

Can I (as I am on the same 1.8.001 release but different dates) unpack the whole new tarball but save header.inc.php and the database unmodifed and do nothing else?

Recommended is to NOT use tar balls at all, but use the provided rpm or
deb packages, as the allow easy (or even automatic) updates.

If you use a tar-ball, always delete everything but the header.inc.php,
before unpacking the new tar-ball. Otherwise you might have old files,
no longer in the new version, left, with unwanted sideeffects.

Are these mentioned versions “released”? eGroupware-1.8.001.20101013 (my version) and eGroupware-1.8.001.20101026 (your suggested version)
Your “No” means I have to modify the db then? or what?
Well the docs are pretty good so I will find out…
