Issues with webdav

Hello,

We are using egw 1.6. I am doing some tests with webdav.
The problems I have are :

When there is a “special character” like a space or accent in a file name of a file stored in the filemanager, I can’t access it with webdav (got errors, or the file is appearing 2 times …)
When I create a new document with word or excel and try to save it to a webserver link (like http://mydomain/egroupware/filemanager/webdav/home/…) I get an error “there has been a network or file permission error”. In egw I can see that the file is created but with 0 byte. If I try to save it a second time, i get a message file already exist, overwrite ? -> yes and then the file saves without problem.

I saw that there where modifications done in trunk regarding webdav. Is it worth to update to the svn version ? Are there risks, because this is my production system. Is it possible to only uograde the filemanager/webdav application, if yes how to do it ?

I think that there is no solution. Only i can put webdav files and folder if i do a copy paste in windows. But not directly using excel or word.

Also, If i haven an accent (not space) it appears in webdav a space like %20 , if didnt have accent the space its ok.

Example:

DIRECTÓRY%20OF%20MY%20HOME

Just use webdrive or netdrive, windows alone has a lot issues with
non-ascii chars.

I search about this and this is not an egroupware problem (save with office) its a windows problem.

OK, NETDRIVE works fine, and have a unit mapped.

Also, i see that the %20 its ok in the new revisions, but first i search the revision in a test server and try, because its an operating egrouwpare.

Hello,

I made some additional trials :
On a windows machine with Netdrive, I can map a drive to a directory in the filemanager. With Word 2002, when I try to save the file test.doc to that drive, I see in filemanager, while de file is still open tilde$est.doc. When I close the file I see only tilde$WRD0000.tmp.
I tried also with a ubuntu machine (8.10) with openoffice I can save the file ‘dit is een test.doc’ without problems. I use a bookmark dav://mydomain.com/egroupware/filemanager/webdav/home
If afterwards, I open that file again with word 2002 and save it, it dissapears and is replaced by a file tildeWRD0000.tmp.

With the same kind of bookmark as above, I tried to reach /apps/infolog. Some times after waiting a while I have a connection, often I get a time out error.
If I first open apps, and then dubbel click on infolog, it works but it is very long.
With other apps it is working normaly. I would like to use this feature to save directly from excel to the infolog, but in this way it’s not useable (too slow).

What can I do to solve the first problem, and to improve the speed in the second case ?

no solution yet ?
I made some more test with ubuntu 9.04. I can save a file under a projectmanger map out of pdf reader by example, but get an error when i try to open it again from nautilus.
I also tried with windows with netdrive, the file get opened but most time with errors

so the webdav is useless for me at the moment.
Are you in the same position, or is it related to my system ?
