Hi All,
Jitsi has implemented a number of new tools, specifically those related to Artificial Intelligence. We are able to use the new tools with Jitsi but not when it is embedded in Egroupware.
I would like to know if anyone tried to use the new tools and, in more general terms, if it is even possible to use them…
GN

If they work in Jitsi, they should work in Jitsi in EGroupware too.

It could be, that our ContentSecurityPolicy does e.g. not allow the content coming from an other domain, and that domain need to be added. In that case you should see an error in the JS console of your browser.

It could be of some interest for other EGroupware users, if you elaborate a bit more about what kind of tools you are talking …

Hi Ralf
I enclose two images showing that jitsi installed not within EGW allows the use of the whiteboard (very useful) which is not possible with the version inside EGW.

Do you have any suggestions ?
Gabriele

Not really, we’re definitely not switching anything off.
EGroupware only opens an iFrame for Jitsi with it’s URL.

Only thing i can imagine:

  • these services come from a different origin (domain) which our CSP prevents, and Jitsi detects and therefore deactivates them (as I wrote before, easy to check in your browser console)
  • Jitsi requires an explizit activation via the iFrame or an other mean, to enable these, which EGroupware is not doing. If you installed these services, it might say something in their installation instructions …

Ralf

Hi Gabriele.

Whiteboard and streaming has nothing to do with AI.

You probably mean configured in EGroupware?

Surely this is the same Jitsi instance/address in both cases?

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
I agree with you. The picture was just an example to make it clear that JITSI under EGW and the stand alone behave differently. In the stand alone one we can install AI tools while in the one under EGW we cannot.
Gabriele

EGw does not have its own installed Jitsi. You integrate an (external) Jisi via URL (and JWT token). EGw therefore has absolutely nothing to do with the installation scope of the Jitsi installation.

Hence my questions once again:

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
I probably wasn’t clear in my post. Obviously I am talking about JITSI as configured in EGW.
We are checking that are both exactly the same version.
Gabriele

Not only the version, but also the installation/configuration! Not every provider offers all possible functions.
