Using Funambol

I installed the eGroupware, latest version.
But I’m not able to sync it with outlook
I’m trying to use the Funambol outlook client configured like this:

Communication Settings

SyncServer domain/egroupware/rpc.php
Username: eGW username
Password: eGW password

Remote Settings

Contact Name: ./sifcontacts
Calendar Name: ./sifcalendar
Task Name: ./siftasks
Note Name: ./sifnotes (? it looks that its not yet implemented)

And I also added to the httpd.ini the following:
<Location /egroupware/rpc.php>
php_value mbstring.func_overload 0
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

But an error occurs, saying that the server as 0 bytes to sync
Can any one give me an hint on how to narrow the problem ?

Hi,

just check your configuration:

Does your group have rights to the syncml app ?
You have to give also the admin group the right to the syncml app - otherwise you won’t see it in preferences
Check the syncml and configure it in the preferences

My user belong to allusers group, and in both I selected syncml
Syncml appears in preferences, in both users (my own ad admin), no success

I’ve attached the debug file generated by funambol: outlook-client-log.txt (9.8 KB)

ok… I found why the error I described above occurred
I had the php var for override enabled, so any code in .htaccess was overriding the php.ini

I was happy in discovering that (since I’m a noob) but I’m facing now another error… :s
"HTTP server error: 500. Server failure."

Yesterday and after some struggling I found that the file .htaccess had a syntax error
I managed to put everything working but… I discovered another thing.

At first the sync did not work because syncml needs the mbstring.func_overload set to zero, but eGroupWare need it set to 7
The change I made in httpd inserting the code below did not take effect (I restarted the server) :
<Location /egroupware/rpc.php>
php_value mbstring.func_overload 0
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

I changed the mbstring.func_overload to zero on php.ini and the sync works.
But now mbstring.func_overload is always zero, is that a problem?
And I do not know why the code I put on httpd did not work…
