No more calendar synchronisation with iOS 16.2

Hello,

Is there something to do in order to make calendar sync (again) with iOS 16.2 ? Is there someone else impacted ?

We have users that are reporting that problem appears with their calendar after an upgrade on iPhone from iOS 15.6.1 to iOS 16.2.

Can it be related to Let’s Encrypt certificates ?

Version used is eGroupWare version 19.1.20200701 ; docker installation with Debian packages, connected to a MariaDB database running on localhost server. Reverse proxy is on another host running apache.

(My plan is to upgrade to latest eGroupWare 23.1 stable version, but I had to ask before going on to this journey.)

Calendar in 23.1 and 21.1 sync with current iOS versions and Let’s Encrypt certificates work fine.

There have been many fixes since EGroupware 19.1, so just update

Hello,

Yesterday was the 23.1 update for this installation !
Server changelog now shows 23.1.20230620.

But iPhone synchronization does still not work.
iPhone complains about SSL error and trying without SSL.

There is one VM server with a reverse proxy that redirects all requests to /egroupware pages to VM server dedicated to eGroupWare. This server has egroupware-docker package installation.

Strange thing is that same “server configuration” works on Thunderbird and Android with Dav^x5 ?!?

URL used is:
https://web.example.org/egroupware/groupdav.php/<user.login>/calendar

(after having changed <user.login> with user login value)

Same happens with following URLs:
https://web.example.org/egroupware/groupdav.php
https://web.example.org/egroupware/groupdav.php/calendar

Is there some dedicated “server configuration for iPhone” that I missed ?

iPhone complains about SSL error and trying without SSL.

That says it all.
If iOS doesn’t like your certificate, it won’t work. iOS requires a valid/verifiable certificate.
Please check your certificate.

This has nothing to do with EGroupware.

Thank you for your answer.

Certificate used is a valid certificate given by Let’s Encrypt.
Edit: when going to web server with Safari on iPhone, certificate is accepted flawlessly.

The only specific configuration I see is that certificate is not on same server than eGroupWare server. But this is not a problem for any other device than iPhone.

We keep searching.

Hello,

It appears an onsite technician found the problem, that has nothing to do with eGroupWare !

Initial configuration has to be done outside site (with 4G connection).

I believe this is due to the dedicated revers proxy server.
