Summary: Change of calendar view fails when drop down menu is used
Initial Comment:
When you try to change the view of the calendar with
the drop down menu nothing happens. The browser seems
to load something but you stay in the old view. With
some browsers it works.
Tested:
Windows XP SP1:
Internet Explorer 6: works
Firefox 1.5 RC2: doesn´t work
Mozilla 1.7.11: doesn´t work
Mac OS X, 10.3.9, 10.4.3:
Safari 2.0.2: Doesn´t work
Firefox 1.0.8: Doesn´t work
Firefox 1.5 RC1: works
If Firefox 1.5 would work on both platforms we would be
happy ;-).
Greetings,
Mike

Hi,
I´ve tested Safari 1.3.1 on Mac OS X 10.3.9 which also
doesn´t work while IE 5.2.3 works on both 10.3.9 and 10.4.3.
The patch you have suggested this morning doesn´t do the trick.
Here are the apache log entries:
Safari 2.0.2:
192.168.0.197 - - [21/Nov/2005:08:43:41 +0100] “GET
/manual/templates/jerryr/images/navbar.png HTTP/1.1” 302 352
192.168.0.197 - - [21/Nov/2005:08:43:40 +0100] “GET
/calendar/index.php HTTP/1.1” 200 88541
FireFox 1.5RC3:
192.168.0.197 - - [21/Nov/2005:08:44:16 +0100] “GET
/index.php?menuaction=calendar.uiviews.planner&sortby=user
HTTP/1.1” 200 14667
192.168.0.197 - - [21/Nov/2005:08:44:16 +0100] “GET
/calendar/index.php HTTP/1.1” 200 48873
192.168.0.197 - - [21/Nov/2005:08:44:16 +0100] “GET
/manual/templates/jerryr/images/navbar.png HTTP/1.1” 302 352
192.168.0.197 - - [21/Nov/2005:08:44:16 +0100] “GET
/calendar/index.php HTTP/1.1” 200 48873
192.168.0.197 - - [21/Nov/2005:08:44:17 +0100] “GET
/calendar/inc/gradient.php?color1=%23ffffff&color2=%23ffffff&width=200
HTTP/1.1” 200 1023
The only entry in the error log is a line about missing
manual page for both of them. For some reason Safari doesn´t
send the GET with the menuaction but it works when you use
the buttons above the menu.
The suggested fix from dant1259 seems only to work for IE,
changes nothing for me.
The server system is linux on an IBM eServer 325 with 2 GB
RAM doing primary tape backups at night. During daytime it
works as a small file server and as a groupware server for
15 people. As you can see, the hardware is some kind of
overkill, the system is a Trustix 2.2 pretty much up to date.

Hi,
I used a bit different fix, which should work too, but it
does not make owner a global variable:
function load_cal(url,id) {
var owner=’’;
selectBox = document.getElementById(id);
for(i=0; i < selectBox.length; ++i) {
Please test it and re-open the bug if not.
The fix will be availible in the next RC, in the next days.

In the calendar view using IE selecting a user will cause a
javascript error and the user calendar selected will not
load. (IE Browser problem only)
Solution.
In the calendar/inc/class.uical.inc.php file find the
javascript below beginning on line 564. The change consist
of moving the line reading owner=’’; to just below the line
function load_cal(url,id) {

Hi Mike,
it works for me with all browsers I have access too:
firefox 1.0.7 (linux)
firefox 1.0.8 (windows)
mozilla 1.7.12 (linux)
konqueror 3.4.0 (linux)
The new calendar UI started as a contract work for a
company, which uses it under mac-os-X with IE and safari.
An other developer (Conny) uses it with Firefox 1.2.
I cant believe it should not work, as this drowdown uses
absolut basic javascript (onchange=“location.href=’…’”).
I believe must have an other problem. Please have a look in
the Apache error_log, maybe you exceed the memory …

Hi,
Firefox 1.5 RC3 on Windows now can change the view. After
all it´s a bit tricky that you have to press the mouse
button until you have reached your selection, otherwise the
system starts loading. This is related to all drop down
menus in the calendar view but is only related to this
single module.
Greetings,
Mike
