Gallery2 integration for eGroupWare

I just commit a first version of an integration of Gallery2
(http://gallery.menalto.com/) into eGroupWare. It should work in 1.2 and
trunk - thought you need to checkout it from trunk:

svn co http://svn.egroupware.org/egroupware/trunk/gallery

The installation is at the moment not integrated into setup, so you need to
do the following:

  • install gallery via setup
  • log into eGW and click on the gallery icon, it informs you gallery is not
installed and gives a link to it’s installer:
  • you can/should give the same DB as eGW using the G2 default prefixes for
    talbes and columns
  • give your files directory with an appended “gallery/” as storage

Next steps:

  • SiteMgr module for G2
  • integrate the G2 installation into our setup
  • get G2’s TinyMCE picture-chooser working

Please note: create users via eGW and NOT via G2, as the sync works only
that way. eGW admins are added automatic to G2’s site-admin groups.

Anyone willing to support the further work on the G2 integration is - as
always - very welcome.

Ralf

Hi all,

the german RFID manufactor scemtec (www.scemtec.com) asked if there
are people who are interested in useing RFID.

Possible applications would be:

  • Timetracking
  • Authentication
  • Resourcehandling / tracking.
  • …

if there’s enough interest we’d start implementing RFID capabilities
into eGroupWare.
Please give me a note if you are interested.

Hi, Cornelius,

I am adding manufacturing features to CK-ERP (add-on eGW modules).
Naturally, I am pretty interested in RFID functions and features within
eGW and its external interface.

Within the revamped CK-ERP inventory/parts record, there is a barcode
text field with no field length restriction. This field could be
generalized to store any inventory identification data (barcode or RFID
based). Hopefully, this could serve as the linkage between eGW and
CK-ERP (RFID-wise).

Perhaps you could describe a bit more on what RFID features you intend
to add within eGW.

Cheers,
CK

The same as with CK, for pERP we’d be quite interested in this
integration. I’d also be interested in what sorts of features would
be added, and how they’d be implemented.
mostly be some kind of I/O device that could call an ExecMethod or

From my limited experience with RFID devices, I’d think it would mostly be
some kind of I/O device that could call an ExecMethod or something on read.

pERP is an Enterprise Resource Planning package for eGroupWare that
is focused on manufacturing. It allows all the usual ERP stuff, but
adds some very flexible manufacturing capabilities. Currently
(barely) pre-alpha, it’s on sourceforge at https://sourceforge.net/
projects/perp/
