Im currently browsing around different groupwares, and egroupware was one of
the most complete one Ive found. Good job there!
Have you thought of adding support for WAP enabled mobile phones through a
WML user interface? WML is very similar to HTML, and it should not be a
problem to add it, since everything is done in php. If I was to play around
with it, what would be the best way to? I guess that your current solution
with templates are a little to big for this task; or is it doable through
templates?
Im up for any idea!
(I saw the support for SyncML in newer releases, but it would be nice to be
able to use any phone and not synchronize all contacts into my phone)

Ive played around a little with WML, and created a sample site similar to
eGW. The sample contains only minor parts (and everything is static), such
as calendar, infolog, stocks, address book. It would be nice to hear if this
is a good idea, or something that is completly rubbish
Ive also used the phpHtmlLib widget library for WML, so the php files dont
have much in them. My next step is going to integrate it into eGW,
and I guess that is going to take a while :? .

I suggest to see how much trouble it would be to revive the old wap
module. It was brought over from phpgroupware and neither project has
done anything with it.
Maybe the project admins have a preference on how wap would be implemented.

Oh, I didnt know that there were some WAP support considered before. But
from looking at it, it was not very feature-rich; it could only display
appointments for 1 day. It didnt seperate the ui from the logic, so the
other egw modules are way different than that old one. Perhaps there is too
much water under the bridge to utilize the old module.
My first attempt will be to use the dox att egw.org to build a sample
application, and from that create WML pages besides the normal web pages.
I would gladly take any input from the project organizer on what is the
prefered way to do it, or any other information. So if anyone reads this,
just let me know!
