Does anyone know what has happened to ‘Angles’ AKA Tony Puglisi, creator of AngleMail?
His site http://www.anglemail.org
has been down for at least a couple of weeks (possibly longer) and his emails just bounce.

Mr. Becker,
Where we can find the last fixed bug version of Anglemail ?. eGW is a great software but the users allways will begin with the email before they use the other more complex modules. We want to introduce in the mind of our people that open source is not equal to low level quality products, but when they ask me why they have not a rich editor, or why they can´t forward mails with attachments or why they can’t review anothers emails while they are composing one, or why they can’t attach all files in one directory with a “select all”, or why they can’t return an email to a unread state, or why they can’t create groups, or why they can’t have draft emails, or why the open source community can’t solve the problem around a good email module that is used by a large amount of people but for a lot of time have not any mainteinance ?.
There are some strategies to solve this ?.

The egw strategy is to use a more updated mail client, with better
integration with the rest of egw apps and, what’s more important, known
and available contact for bug fixes and updates.
I agree it’s a pity anglemail is unmaintained, but there are a lot of
open bugs and feature requests that, together with the way it’s written,
makes it hard to have a responsability about maintenance or support. At
least the two last stable releases of egw included it, and there have
been no changes and nobody has wanted to take it over, so the decision
to drop unmaintained apps (having a substitute, felamimail) is coherent.
If every somebody wants to update anglemail and fix all bugs, etc, it
can be good, but I think all that effort could be redirected to improve
felamimail for whatever’s necessary. In open source world, everyone has
the ability to choose where one wants to offer his help and spend his time.

Hi Aldemar,
all this is solved in our standard mail application in trunk /
development version (with the one little exception of attaching whole
directories, I dont think other apps do that).
