Thunderbird sync

Hello

I have found a Mozilla-Thunderbird syncml client extension
http://topologilinux.com/syncml/
I have tested it with egw in order to sync contacts, but don’t work.
Perhaps a configuration default, or incompatibility with egw, I don’t know.
This app is natively build for mobical.net or zyb.com.

Settings parameters are :
username
login
database name
url (eg : http://server/sync.php)

I have tryed :
username : user (user egw)
passwd : passwd (passwd user egw)
database : egroupware (it is the name of the db)
url : http://myserver/egroupware/rpc.php

Does somebody has try it ?

Having a sync app like this for contacts lists should be a great idea …

Hi Yves,database is certainly not the eGW database, but the “./contacts”

Thank you Ralf, I will try until I will be at home.

PS : I have found the error with sync contacts between palm/synthesis and
egw : it was errors in my palm data…

I’ve tested this extension for Thunderbird. It’s working fine, so I
think you have a problem with your configuration:

I have tryed :
username : user (user egw)
passwd : passwd (passwd user egw)
database : egroupware (it is the name of the db)
url : http://myserver/egroupware/rpc.php

The database field is de name where syncml look for contacts. So the
correct configuration is:

database: ./contacts

Ok.
I have modified configuration.
But one question : is it really a sync tool ?
Because I can see message box “Sending to server” with numbers 1 to 6,
after a message "Sync successfull"
Data on thunderbird are stored to egw, but no data from egw to
thunderbird …
Precision : I’m runing Thunderbird 1.5.0.4 on Linux Mandriva 2006.

I understand those who want a sync with Outlook
But Thunderbird exist !..

So, if I want to export contact file with mozilla conversion (ldif),
second email is not present.
I try to understand why…

And when using Thunderbird as LDAP client, the only mail
used by the address book is the professionnal e-mail (all
the other are unknown)

I’ve got the same problem. Contacts from eGW aren’t downloaded.

Note : the author say “Curreltly this extension will probably only work
against www.mobical.net/www.zyb.com based solutions. Sync4J based servers
will probably fail”. I don’t know if this issue means that mobical/zyb
server configuration are special and the extension should not work with
other syncml servers. One should try to synchronize with these servers (I
don’t know if it’s free …) : if the same problem appears, the extension is
the origin, if not we should see if the developer (or another) could rebuild
his extension…

If it cal help to resolve the problem
This is a part of httpd error log. Each time I try to synchronize, this
line is present.
#begin

[client ip_adress] Client not found: Tobias SyncML client for Thunderbird TSync
#end

Furtheremore, when I try to synchronise with a funabol outlook sync
(from anothe pc), I have another error line which has been a post subject :
#begin
[client 217.109.169.62] PHP Warning: array_shift() [function.array-shift]: The argument
should be an array in
/var/www/html/egroupware/phpgwapi/inc/horde/Horde/SyncML/Sync/SlowSync.php
on line 43 #end
An after number of line “Client not found:” with nothing else

I have uninstalled this funabol extension since it is not for me
important to synchronise with Outlook (…) .
