1.4 svn 24327 Setup Error. magic_quotes_gpc = Off

Ralf, Lars:

I checked out 24327, and ran setup. Setup flagged as a warning that

magic_quotes_gpc was Off in the php.ini when it was actually On. I don’t
think this is a giant error, but it is certainly something that isn’t right.
Setup reported the following warning;

Checking php.ini: magic_quotes_gpc = Off: ini_get(‘magic_quotes_gpc’)=‘1’ =
On
magic_quotes_gpc is needed by: felamimail.*

The actual contents of my php.ini was:

; Magic quotes
;

; Magic quotes for incoming GET/POST/Cookie data.
magic_quotes_gpc = On

; Magic quotes for runtime-generated data, e.g. data from SQL, from exec(),
etc.
magic_quotes_runtime = Off

; Use Sybase-style magic quotes (escape ’ with ‘’ instead of ').
magic_quotes_sybase = Off

Do I need to file a bug report, or will this be enough?

Hi David,

the message says magic_quotes_gpc is On and FMail needs it Off.
Maybe the wording should be: magic_quotes_gpc Off is needed by: felamimail

Hello Ralf,

First of all, thanks to you and all the developers for all the great work you have done with eGroupware, it is a fabulous product. Now, I was seeing the same problem and the error is:

Checking php.ini: magic_quotes_gpc = Off: ini_get(‘magic_quotes_gpc’)=‘1’ = On
magic_quotes_gpc is needed by: felamimail.

I also understood this to mean magic quotes should be on and was frustrated that I could not get the system to recognize that it was on. The change you suggested below or magic_quotes_gpc = Off is needed by: felamimail would help to clarify.
