1.8 branch created

I just created the 1.8 branch based on Stylite EPL 9.2 branch.

All app version have been updated to 1.8 (API is 1.8.001).

I copied importexport from trunk, as the one in EPL-9.2 is identical to
1.6 and of not much use.
@nathan: can you please check, if it’s still working (I recall you made
some changed in the supported apps, which need to be merged to 1.8 too).

If you have some commits from trunk you want to have in 1.8, feel free
to merge them. I know Hansjürgen has some SiteMgr stuff he want’s in 1.8.

Please do NOT copy whole applications from trunk, as we want just one
release candidate before the final 1.8 release.

I would prepare the release candidate (incl. rpm/deb packages next
weekend), unless someone need urgently more time (please let me know).

For everyone, if you commit bug fixes to trunk, please do not forget to
merge them to 1.8 too. 1.6 branch is not that important any more, as we
will probably have no more 1.6 based release, as 1.8 is now really close.

Hi,

I have just made an svn upgrade to the 1.8 branch, but I can’t create new
tickets in the tracker any more, the names for queues, categories and version
are gone.

They are still available in the database in the egw_categories table but not
shown anywhere in the groupware.

Can I fix something?

I had to set the cat_owner to -1, it was 0, for all categories to fix it, don’t
know if this is a bug in the software or in my setup, it was working in the
1.7 series.

enable autoloading of them.

I am using news://news.gmane.org:119/gmane.comp.web.egroupware.devel from
which I filter for my commits in trunk (since the 1.6 branch date), copy
those messages into a local folder and compare.

This brings me to an important question towards Ralf:
The 1.8 branch is missing some (typo) fixes which I also committed to the
1.6 branch, so the 1.8 does not seem to be up-to-date compared to 1.6. Is
it planned to systematically merge the 1.6 software status into 1.8 such
that no fixes are missed or is this a manual process each developer has
to go through? My understanding was that the 1.8 had all fixes from 1.6
inside already?

For me, this is not a large number of commits, which I can manually merge
back into 1.8, but I fear that other fixes might go missing and problems
re-occur with the 1.8 version which had already been fixed for 1.6?
