Further to this translation problem…
Changing to Pixelegg makes not difference ; we made another fresh
installation (ie. not an upgrade/copy and no extra application) on the
same server (php 5.3.3) with no difference ; changing memory limit to
512M with no difference : eGroupware is working well but is partially
translated…
Hmm, there are different cache backends. By default we prefer shared
memory APC (or APCu), given it is available and has enough memory
available, otherwise we use files. There’s also a memcached backend we
use for our EGroupware cluster.
If you use recommended APC(u), you should check how much memory it has
available:
apc.shm_size = 128MB
apc.shm_segments = 1
Product of above should be at least 128MB, default is 32MB.
Also, there is no particular error log, and we activated the
file-based cache to see how it works…
There, we can see German words loaded in temporay files (after
connecting in German for this sample…)

About the loading of the admin, we made a new installation of
egroupware without extra module and it’s loading faster… We have to
avoid loading javascript/ajax in these admin functions… The
inclusion of javascript and ajax code changed but that is another topic…
Also, for test purposes, I changed the config “Sitzungs-ID in einem
Cookie speichern” from Ja to Nein…
I am not sure if it’s supposed to work after that as the login works
but when the page is loading, it’s looping back to the login screen
with “Ihre Sitzung konnte nicht verifiziert werden” Then,
reconnecting is tricky (clearing cache, reinserting config values in
the database…) ; is this feature to be kept ?
There’s no good reason to NOT use cookie, therefore option “No” has not
much testing anymore and has absolutely nothing to do with caching
issues you experience.
For now… the annoying thing is more the translation, all the more
since it works on the demo website…
I can assure you, it’s something in your environment or configuration.
Translation system is working fine in 14.1.
