I can NOT confirm that.
I just checked with Safari 7.0.6 (9537.78.2) under Mavericks against a
svn up-to-date 14.1 and Trunk.
Maybe your EGroupware, Safari or both are not up to date.

A user on Safari browser also reports a mail error: can not compose or
reply, window opens blank with this error:

Users on Firefox and Chrome have no problems.
