Which policies may prevent to watch the addressbook entries, cos with the new users I have created they can record but can’t see any addressbook information. it is just happening with the new users, I know that the BD is recording, but they can’t see them.

please which of the flags or the policies can prevent an user to watch addressbook’s records?

with record you talk about they can create addressbook entries?
so they can create, but cannot see the created entries?

check owner and type of the new database entrys of the created address entries
(contact_owner, contact_tid)
check addressbook preferences for the new users egw_preferences filtered by user and app and try deleting these entries.
it might be a screwed up filter stored into the default prefs for addressbook

Now I see what caused the problem, it was the database upgrade that was made 3 month ago, from 1.6.001 to 1.8, I was readding a post that threat that issue “Addressbook issue since 1.8 upgrade”, and this what Birgit said:

“i’m not talking of group-adressbooks. The contact-type is e.g. n=contacts, you can create and check this in Adressbook->admin->customfields
The contact-types are mentioned at the top. If there is no type shown, this means that the default-contact-type was deleted somehow. On the Adressbook-list-view should be an selectbox for Type (as soon as there are more than one type)”

but first I tried to create “contact” as addressbook-type and it didn’t resolve it then I erase the blank addressbook.type and it was worst cos now any user can’t see addressbook entries,

I checked the contact_tid = n and contact_owner is 0 for an user created and the egw_accounts.account_id for an user’s entry,

the problem described here was solved!

the only thing you gotta do is:

1. go to addressbook -> admin -> customfields
2. press create button without writing any name
   it will give it the message that a name must be especified ‘never mind’
3. now the delete button appears, select the blank space in the select box and press delete button until the word
   "contact" appears. be carefull to don’t press it more than that, otherways any user won’t be able to watch addressbook antries. (well if that happends just abort it). ;@)
4. then and maybe not necessary write “navbar,png” in Icon field and “addressbook.edit” in template field.
5. and finally press apply or save.

that’s it, but all users that were created after the database upgrade and before this 5 steps, won’t see any addressbook entries.

egroupware team, do you approve or desapprove it? at least for an user that don’t know about DB is ok.

That should do for users that do not work with abbressbook types.

Hi Gustavo,
the Filter which is responsible for the not seeing of addresses might be:
s:10:“col_filter”;a:1:{s:3:“tid”;i:0;}

If every thing was in order it should be like
s:10:“col_filter”;a:1:{s:3:“tid”;s:1:“n”;}

Why it is putting in a 0 and not the default tid for new users, I dont know yet.
Do new users, that were created after you fixed the type-issue, still get the strange (wrong) filter?

no with the type fixed this is what happends with a new user: s:10:“col_filter”;a:1:{s:3:“tid”;s:1:“n”;}

i really don’t know cos the first thing we suppose is that when you have created a custom addressbook field and make a database upgrade, those fields don’t appears, so the blank space, and when you delete the blank registers the problem disappears, but we have another database that was upgrade and had a custom addressbook field and don’t make any mistake. so… no idea.
