Yes, but unfortunately not handily.
If you edit the etemplate ‘etemplate.ajax_select_widget’, you can
change the box size in the usual way. This will change every ajax
select on your site.

Unfortunately, I have made use of it in more then one spot and only the one spot requires the extra length. I guess a quick hack would be to make an ajax select(2) in my installation copying the widget and templates with a different name then extending the etamplate in the copy.

You could also try using CSS to change the input box’s size. That
might work better.
