I think there must be a function in every app which can be called by this tool to abstract the “deletion of an entry” for example (cause e.g. calendar has more than one table affected if you delete an event or to preserve ACLs). So we could make a central tool which calls only the abstracted functions of every app. This prevents errors and if an app-maintainer changes something on the db, he knows to change the archiving-functions also in the same way.
