Android and syncml

I have just installed egroupware using the debian 6.0 repos as suggested in the download section. It is version 1.8.
I am able to synchronize contacts to a PC using opensync and its syncml plugin.

I have trouble using syncml to synchronize my contacts on my android phone (sony experia x8). Looking in the logs, it tells me that I get a 500 internal server error.

From the apache logs:
[Thu Aug 04 09:55:25 2011] [error] [client 192.168.1.103] PHP Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, object given in /usr/share/egroupware/phpgwapi/inc/horde/Horde/SyncML/Sync/TwoWaySync.php on line 448
[Thu Aug 04 09:55:25 2011] [error] [client 192.168.1.103] PHP Fatal error: Cannot use object of type PEAR_Error as array in /usr/share/egroupware/phpgwapi/inc/horde/Horde/SyncML/Sync/TwoWaySync.php on line 450

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi,
try 4MyPAL to sync your stuff, it explicitely supports egroupware and
works nicely for me.
You could also try and see if your error is related to missing
PEAR-packages.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried the 4mypal app. It want to do its own contact list, which seems odd, but it synchronises nicely with egroupware. It appears that only contacts are supported. I can accept that for now.

In the setup test, when all is OK then forget it, or you have to install the missing packages,…

All the tests pass. It is just that I got the impression by googling, that my error could be a version issue.

On my Galaxy S, I am using Funambol client version 9.x for contact synchronisation (the new 10.x version does not work), and CalDAV-Sync from Marten Gajda for synchronisation of my calendars. Both work fine (I had some problems with CalDAV sync at the beginning, but solved them with the help of the developer and my web hoster). The great advantage with CalDAV-Sync is that you can have as many calendars as you wish, and set a color for each one.

Hi Ralf,

4MyPal was working great, I upgraded egw and now I’m getting Generic Error with when trying to sync. Any ideas? All my Pear packages are installed.

Fixed my issue added:

mbstring.func_overload = 0

to my php.ini in /egroupware/php.ini

solved by going to www.myegroupwareinstall.com/rpc.php via desktop browser and the page tells you whats missing. if it says “You should access this URL only with a SyncML enabled device.” your good to go!
