Ralf, devs,
I think the new 1.6 theme and colors are great. I the white/silver shaded
images are very clean looking and with the black font, the contrast is great.
The only nit I can find is a place I think we can buy-back some screen
real-estate. The (? horizontal bar directly below the egw menu ?) for lack of
better words it taller than needed by 10-15 px. This is the area where egw
displays the name of the app, and other information like the date and current
user in calendar. I have it highlighted with a dotted orange line here:

Currently this horizontal space is 40 px in height. See:

I would like to shrink this to 20 or 25 px to save the space. I don't know
where this lives in the code or where it could be changed. I guess it is just
some type of
with a background image repeated horizontally, but I don’t
know where to look. I don’t mind scaling the image and testing different
heights to find the one that is the best trade-off. It also looks like the font
could be shrunk by 2 px without sacrificing the look you are trying to achieve.
On a desktop the size is fine, but on a laptop at 1280x800, every pixel counts
as far as making the interface show enough that it all still looks clean. If
you point me in the right direction, I don’t mind testing and reporting back.
Thanks.
Happy Thanksgiving!
