Hi,
EGroupWare is doing some really nice things with GroupDAV. Unfortunately,
Lightning/Sunbird only supports iCalendar and CalDAV. While GroupDAV clients
are compatible with CalDAV servers, CalDAV clients are not compatible with
GroupDAV servers. The current iCal implementation is nice but insufficient
for large multiuser environments, e.g.:

I’m just curious if anyone is currently working on CalDAV or if anyone is
planning to work on it. If not, I may take a whack it or pay someone to do
so. If I’m not mistaken, CalDAV is significantly more complicated than
GroupDAV.
I’m not currently working on CalDAV, but I plan to do so. I would not
say, it’s significantly harder to implement, it’s just some more
requests (specially to query dates after some criteria) and the WebDAV
ACL support, meaning you need to tell the client with some extra
attributes, if he’s allowed to modify or delete the event.
I’m thought of hope, to find a sponsor for the CalDAV stuff, as I
already added the GroupDAV support, without one.
Also, has anyone heard of rumors in the Mozilla camp to add GroupDAV support?
Only thing I heard from the GroupDAV people is: they want to wait for
the CalDAV code in Sunbird/Lightning stabilices, before they want to
"strip it down" for only GroupDAV support.
