Assigning / delegating doesn't work

Hi all,

I already added added a topic here about assigning member to a project: that doesn’ t work, the dropdown with users-that-can-be-added is empty.

I now have the same problem with InfoLog: in Details -> Delegation, the “Responsible” dropdown is empty.

Similar in Tracker; when I want to assign a ticket, there’s even no dropdown available:

It looks like something in the core where users are selected got broken.
I had the issue with Projectmanager in 23.1.20241123, that’s why I upgraded to 23.1.20250902. Not sure if the Infolog and Tracker issues where in last november’s release as well.

In Infolog I don’t get any errors, when I open a Tracker item (or create a new one), the error_log says:

AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: EGroupware\\Api\\Etemplate\\Widget::expand_name() eval('$name = "tracker:{$cont[tr_id]}:comments/{$cont[reply_id]}/";);
PHP message: An error happened! (Error): Undefined constant "tr_id" (0);
PHP message: File: /api/src/Etemplate/Widget.php(721) : eval()'d code, Line: 1;

Since I can’t imagine these issues are in the egw code, I tested a fresh install at my local network. I don’t have these issues here.
So next step: I removed the complete HTDOCS directory (except header.inc.php of course) and reinstalled the code to make sure there’s no history in there (I usually just copy the new version over the old one).

But that doesn’t solve it; so it looks like the issue is data related. I have over 20 years of history in my database that I cannot simply throw away; any suggestions how I can debug this?

there is a common preference on how users should be selected, one option disallows user-selection for everyone but admins. Please check what’s set for the user you have that problem for.
The default value in a new installation is “selectbox with all users”.

Thanks for reporting, I fixed that one:

removing excess braces causing PHP Error: Undefined constant "tr_id"

But I doubt is causes your above mentioned problem.

Yes, that was the one!
I wasn’t aware of that setting, but it had “No user select” as forced preference.
