Hi Peter,
with a productive install, I can only recommend to install the crontab
entry for eGroupware, which removed the need for the fallback.
If you dont have the option to install the crontab line in eGroupware,
it might be caused by open_basedir or missing rights to be run by apache
of /usr/bin/crontab command. In that case you can eg. use a file from
our rpm’s which you can copy to /etc/cron.d and switch Async Service off.
I have no other idea about the problem you describe.

Hi folks,
I’m running trunk r26334. I’ve been having troubles with a “Your session could
not be verified” error when attempting to log in via the Web interface. When
this happens, $_SESSION[self::EGW_SESSION_NAME] is empty in
class.egw_session.inc.php::verify()

If I attempt to log in from our LAN with Firefox (2 or 3), I get the error
about 80% of the time.
-
If I attempt to log in from or LAN with Konqueror, I am successful 100% of
the time.
-
If I attempt to log in with either Firefox or Konqueror from a remote
location over the Internet, I am successful 100% of the time.
-
If I change “Run Asynchronous services” from “fallback” to “disabled”, I am
successful with either browser from the LAN 100% of the time.
When I get the error, the call to session_start() fails to set
$_SESSION[‘egw_session’] in egw_session::init_handler(). Sleeping for 1 second
before this call seems to alleviate the problem, but it is obviously not desirable.
Making the change in 4) prevents phpgwapi.asyncservice.check_run from being
executed in line 473 of class.egw.inc.php (shutdown function). Could this be
some sort of a buffering or synchronization issue that the high-speed LAN magnifies?
