Hi,
Lets say that I have a zombie@gmail.com and zombie@zoho.com E-mail
address. I configure eGroupware with the IMAP and SMTP credentials for
those respective accounts, and they are fully functional in eGroupware.
So the two mail accounts are working in EGroupware in a browser, which
means EGroupware stored the passwords encrypted with your user password.
Two Scenarios:
Desktop Terminal:
Mozilla Thunderbird is configured to use DAV Protocols to store Contacts
and Calender items. However the Mail accounts have to be configured by
hand independently. Is there a way eGroupware can auto-configure or
forward access to the mail component.
I’m not aware there is a way to auto-configure TB.
Mobile Device:
Using DAVDroid, I can provide Contacts and Calender items. But if I want
Mail, I have to configure KA9Mail for Android Separately. The problem is
then that I have to spend additional time configuring clients account by
account on every device.
Our mobile client would work out of the box of cause.
eSync (ActiveSync protocol) allows to access a single (configurable)
mail account, together with contacts and calendar.
iOS and Android support autoconfiguration, but we have not implemented
that in EGroupware so far.
