EGroupware does not yet support the expand property, thought this is the
first client I see using and relying on it 
expand means the server returns recurring events like regular events for
each recurrence in the given timespan, and NOT return a single event
with an RRULE.
To verify that, you could try with a test-calendar only containing
non-recuring events.
As I’m currently working on CalDAV for the CalConnect meeting next week
in Cupertino, I just implemented the expand in Trunk:

If you can post a trace, I can probably tell what’s going wrong.
Trunk or EPL 11.1 can do it’s own tracing (Preferences>>
Cal>Card>GroupDAV Server>> Debug. Unfortunately 1.8 is now a bit behind
and I cant update it, because of serveral missing bits and pieces. So
you have to use eg. wireshark to get a trace.

Thanks Ralf. Sorry to attach it off list, but it contains some personal
appointments. I’ve removed my password. It seems to look OK on the
EGroupware side. But none of the events show up for Asterisk, though
Asterisk has no trouble creating events in EGW. Trace from trunk attached.
If this trace looks good to you, I’ll take it up with the Asterisk devs.
