Cannot Login into Egroupware as a user

Hi ,

I need some help getting the final part of the egroupware installation.
I have installed egroupware on a cpanel server’s public_html folder.
The setup ran without any issue. I’m stuck now at the user login.

*I cannot login as a user. I have 3 email addresses setup on my email server.
Since I’m using Mail Authentication in egroupware, I put the the email address and the email password,stored in the mail server to login to egroupware.
Sometimes the egroupware user login says user is expired or bad login.
Attached is is my current configuration details.

What can’t I login and use the program?
Don’t forget installation files are on the webserver(Public_Html). I don’t have root access to the
Linux OS. I don’t think Root access is necessary as 95% of the setup has gone well.

given, that you authenticated right, you have not set the option that you
autocreate authenticated users in your account store.
Your AccountStore is SQL.

I’m really sorry, I didn’t exactly understand what you meant.
Can you please clarify what’s missing from my end to get the config right.

Setup->Edit Current Configuration Section Authentication / Accounts
Option: Auto create account records for authenticated users
Set to YES
Option:
Auto-created user accounts expire:
set to NEVER

Tried exactly as mentioned, still the same.
Thank you anyway. I will re-run the installation from the beginning to see what has gone wrong.
Let me know, if there are any other suggestions about the login.

Have a look at the database.
If there are no entrys in egw_accounts, (not even Groups (account_type=‘g’))
or only entrys with
user_type=‘u’ there is no way, this will work.

Set your way of Authentication to SQL.
Create an Admin User.
This will Create the User, the Admins Group and the Default Group.
Login as that Admin, Check if there are any users with Admin->User accounts.
If there are Users (your Mail Users), check Group Permissions. If no Group
Assignment is given.
Assign Groups as desired. Do not forget to assign Admins Group to one of
your existing Users.
Go Back to Setup, switch back to Mail, see what happens.

If there are none of the Users you defined with your Mailserver, your
Authentication with the
Mailserver may have failed entirely.

Note that you may have to login with the emailaddress to authenticate with
your Mailserver.
Note that your domain defined in header.inc.php may have to match your
Maildomain.
