Can't create new group after upgrade from 14.2 20150212 to 20150218

Hi,
after upgrade from EGW 14.2 version 20150212 to 20150218 I got errors
when I try create new group in Admin menu - User Groups.
Error is “Error saving account”

And in Apache2 error.log appear bunch of errors.
Errors you can see in attached txt file.

Can you fix it or tell how to create new group in latest version ?

I have the same problem. For version 14.2 will not install egroupware-epl-group. Depends on egroupware-epl-core (> = 14.1.20140617-1)

I am have also just upgraded to 14.2.20150218 but I have Group administration rights

I have a similar issue at the moment when adding a user I get
ajax request failed : ok 200
Server error log should contain more information about the problem.
Trying it again will usually not help!

This is not a big issue at the moment as the user is created it is just disconcerting as the error is in big red text.

But it is a json.php call that refrences etemplate_new.ajax_process_content.etemplate.
I hope this helps point in a direction that solves the problem.

thank you for your reply, but I think I have different kind of issue.

I have a Vanilla ubuntu 14.04 with EGW 14.2

Critical change is probably that one:

It now stores a “description” attribute for each group.

Do you know what LDAP ObjectClasses you use?
Do you have an other means to edit your LDAP directory? If yes, try to
add a “description” attribute to a group.

It works for the LDAP systems I tested with, but you are not the only
one reporting problems.

I use objectClass “organizationalUnit” and “top” for groups. (ou=groups,dc=my,dc=domain)
And each group created automatically by EGW is a child of groups and is objectClass “posixGroup” and “top”.
(“cn=Admins,ou=groups,dc=my,dc=domain”,cn=Default,ou=groups,dc=my,dc=domain")
I can access LDAP through phpldapadmin.

I do not understand what do you mean by “try to
add a “description” attribute to a group”.

How I can add “description” to non existing group ? The EGW will not let me create any.
Or I should add it to existing groups ?

The LDAP schema “nis” where is objectClass “posixGroup” defined contain attribute “description”.

Description was not added to CE groups app, only to EPL.

Sure, they are not up to date and will start to differ with each new
version.

We’ll get that fixed, if you’re willing to help a little.

Maybe you could know another thing I need to solve. Whenever I log in EGW I found in apache2 error.log
this one long line.

accounts::add_default_group_description(Array([account_id] => -1018[account_lid] => my_group[account_type] => g[account_firstname] => my_group[account_lastname] => Group[account_status] => A[account_fullname] => my_group)), referer: https://mydomain/egroupware/index.php?cd=yes

for every group I have in EGW. It is happening from newest version 20150218.
I found out that the cause is file class.accounts.inc.php. When I replace it for
old (20150212) one everything is OK (no errors).
If you can find what to change in that file instead of replacing, it would be great

Hmm, then you can never remove a description.

I dont understand why setting it to an emtpy array does not work, that’s
how you tell LDAP to remove the (optional) attribute.

Still havn’t found time to try it with the community groups app
