I just created an account on
https://community.egroupware.org/egroupware/ to reply to an issue in the
tracker, but I can’t use egroupware properly, it keeps sending me back
to the main tracker page.
Looking at the URL, I can see that “the administrator” wants me to
change my password, but I don’t have access to the settings application,
hence the password-change request is not shown, and I can’t change the
password.
I managed to circumvent the problem by requesting a password reset on
the login page, that was enough to get rid of the invisible
password-changing request.
I did have to jumps through a lot of hoops just to get a message on the
tracker though…
- Tried registering to egroupware-tracker-owner@lists.sourceforge.net,
but got a message saying that the mailing-list was read-only
- That message said to go to http://www.egroupware.org/egroupware/
which is a 404 Not Found, the correct address is
https://community.egroupware.org/egroupware/
- There, you have to click on the “Not a user yet? Register now.”,
which is barely visible (small font, blue text on blue background)
- Once you have filled in the fields for a new account, you get a
message saying “Error” in red, but the account creation has actually
succeeded
- Nothing tells you that you have to click on the link in the
confirmation e-mail, and you get confusing message: the account does not
exist (when trying to log-in), an account with this username already
exists (when trying to re-create an account)
- Then you have a password-changing request that is not shown, and that
you can’t honor, apart from using the lost-password link on the login page.
