Change UIDs and GIDs system-wide

Hi,

I have an egw installation in production, populated with all sort of user info in applications (tickets, documents, contacts, messages, resources reservations…). All the user account info where migrated to ldap server and now I have to use this ldap server to authenticate posix user accounts.

The problem is that UIDs and GIDs where created stating from 1, so conflicting with some posix users and groups (gnu/linux debian etch, in my case).

Ok, I’ve seen some posts regarding this, but I can’t just set minimum uid/gid and recreate all the users. Is there a way of changing users’ uid/gid in egw application-wide (considering all the user info already entered in applications)? If there is not an automated way of doing this, where can I find documentation about tables’ columns that maps to egw_accounts.account_id?

No. That’s not possible.

If there is not an automated way of doing this,

There is no real documentation. But you can have a look at
egwapplication/setup/tables_current.inc.php. There you find all tables
documented as php arrays. Maybe a simple “grep account” will show you must
places where accountId’s get used.

Hi,

admin/admin-cli.php (admin command line interface) has an option to
change uid’s and gid’s. Just call it without parameters to get the usage
message.

I wrote it the last time I needed it, but it’s not much tested and does
NOT support MyDMS or Workflow.
