Changing Alias

I installed community Egroupware and believe I will really enjoy it’s features.

My question is:

How can I change the alias? The egroupware.conf in /etc/httpd/conf.d has alias as egrouware.

I want to refer to it as “Office”. Do I change it here? Or in the apache httpd.conf in the /conf folder?

you have to change it in 2 places:

1. for packages in /etc/httpd/conf.d/egroupware (or /etc/apache2/conf.d)

2. in EGroupware’s setup (http://your-domain.com/egroupware/setup/),
   it’s called Webserver URL there

you have to change it in 2 places:

1. for packages in /etc/httpd/conf.d/egroupware (or /etc/apache2/conf.d)
2. in EGroupware’s setup (http://your-domain.com/egroupware/setup/),
   it’s called Webserver URL there

It’s probably also worth mentioning that if you’re also wanting to change the ServerName / ServerAlias for the virtual host, that renaming it to “Office” won’t give you access to it unless it’s set as the webservers default virtual host or configure a static host address. If you want to access it via http://office/ then you need to setup a local DNS or add an entry to the hosts file of any clients connecting to it (/etc/hosts or windows-dir/system32/drivers/etc/hosts). Just add this line at the bottom:

ip.of.egw.server office # EGroupware

And away you go via http://office/ in your browser. Good luck!
